XPERTSTEM
Physics
XPERTSTEM is world-class Natural Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics knowledge competitions for students from grades 3 to 12, including the Mathematics, Coding and English, that seeks to ensure that all students have an opportunity to pursue a career in STEM that seeks to identify the next generation of scientific leaders.
Students in grade division 1, 2 and 3 will write Natural Science while grade division 4 and 5 may choose one of the science subjects.
XPERTSTEM Physics Challenge
XPERTSTEM Physics Challenges pursue several key objectives, which can be tailored to meet the specific needs of participants, such as primary school or high school students’ teams. Our goals that range from identifying and nurturing talent to simply stimulating a deeper interest in the physics and other STEM subjects.
Educational objectives
- Identify and promote talent: XPERTSTEM Physics Challenge serves to identify highly skilled and promising students in physics. We offer a more challenging environment than a typical classroom and promote gifted students.
- Improve knowledge and problem-solving skills: Participants improve their analytical, critical-thinking, and practical skills in both theoretical and experimental physics. We aim to motivate students to master the curriculum at a deeper level and explore topics beyond the standard syllabus.
Motivational objectives
- Increase interest in physics: We create excitement around physics and science in general, particularly for students in secondary school. They use motivational aspects similar to sporting events, where participants compare their abilities against others.
- Inspire scientific careers: By stimulating interest and celebrating excellence in science, competitions encourage young people to consider further studies and future careers in physics and other STEM fields.
- Provide a meaningful challenge: The opportunity to solve complex, non-trivial problems is a primary motivator for many participants, who are interested in testing their knowledge and capabilities.
Collaborative and social objectives
- Promote teamwork: For team-based competitions, a key objective is to promote collaboration. Students must discuss ideas, share knowledge, and compromise to achieve a common goal.
- Facilitate networking: At regional, national, and international levels, physics competitions allow like-minded students to connect and build relationships with peers from different schools and countries.
- Showcase students’ achievements: We provides a platform for students to demonstrate their talent and for their achievements to be publicly recognized through prizes, awards, and scholarships.
Institutional and societal objectives
- Promote science education: We aim to raise the overall standard of science education and create broader public awareness of the importance of physics.
- Provide teacher feedback: We offer insights into the learning process for teachers. The problems and student performance can provide valuable feedback on which curriculum areas may need more attention
